I am an American that grew up in the suburbs of Memphis, TN. I graduated with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in December 2011 and then worked as a manufacturing engineer in Houston, Texas until 2015. In August 2015, I started my agriculture career as a live-in volunteer at World Hunger Relief Inc.'s farm in Waco, TX. After eight months at WHRI, I took Warren Brush's PDC for International Development at Quail Springs. Next, I will be starting a four-month internship at a sustainable agriculture farm and orphanage in the Philippines--a place I intend to stay for at least a year alongside my twin brother, who has also recently started his agriculture journey after a career as a design engineer. He is currently a permaculture intern at Ridgedale Permaculture in Sweden under Richard Perkins. Long term, I have a strong interest in working alongside small holder farmers. Currently I am very interested in the work that Aranya, the host of the upcoming 2017 IPC (http://permacultureindia.org/), is doing in Andhra Pradesh, India.
