Edwina was inspired by the practical design solutions she found in one of Bill Mollinson’s early introductions to the subject. She completed a 72hr Permaculture Design Course taught by Darren Doherty and Trish Allen at Rainbow Valley Farm in 2010. Living in an intentional community in northern Thailand was the opportunity to learn, practice and teach permaculture full-time. This led to an intense period of sustainable design and ‘Transition Town’ training at Findhorn Ecovillage in Scotland. Edwina trained to teach with Brighton Permaculture Trust in England. She coordinated the initial design phases of a community food forest garden in Morocco and is involved in a similar project in Katikati, NZ. In her diploma she draws on her passion for social history, and previous work in heritage conservation and arts management to complement her permaculture designs.
