I became interested in permaculture as I was growing increasingly aware of how poorly the current methods of large scale food production were failing.
I started looking for any information on permaculture I could find. Then I found the best permaculture book out there, the designers manual by Bill Mollison. This really opened my eyes to what the world could be like if people would be willing to try a different approach to food production. Everything I read made complete sense and when I heard that Geoff Lawton was doing an online PDC in 2013 I had to be a part of it. I got certified last year and started working consulting with anyone who was interested in diversity and food security. Most of the projects I have worked on on have been small urban projects ranging from 1/10 of an acre up to 1 acre.
Permaculture has been a positive force in my life and I am excited to see the movement growing all the time. I owe many thanks to Geoff Lawton and Bill Mollison for all of their inspirational work.
