I am a community development worker and ecological engineer who is well experienced with Permaculture. I have a background in academic research in Energy and the Environment. After further study in community development I have applied my technical skills in the community sector in South East Queensland, Australia.
My practice framework for community development has been influenced through work with Northey Street City Farm, a community venue that teaches and applies the principles of Permaculture to an urban environment. I have worked with people to implement projects in urban agriculture and food security, appropriate technology, waste management and adult education and training.
Recently I left Brisbane where I was working as a community development worker integrating people with mental illness and intellectual disability with social enterprise; and as a program manager for organic food production at Northey Street City Farm, to pursue a position as Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) technical advisor for a local Khmer rural development organization in Cambodia. I workers for 1 year establish a Water Sanitation and Hygiene program integrated with their other rural development activities. I am looking for new opportunities in Social Enterprise, Appropriate Technology and Permaculture in a developing country context, preferably South East Asia. I can converse in Khmer.
