Attempting to find a new peaceful way to protest by empowering others with low tech solutions/substitutions too energy hogging technology while living in harmony with nature.
*NOTE* As my efforts are to empower the public (and myself) through selfsufficiency and there is no political affiliation, I don't feel thisis in conflict with this sites views. After all "Political"is listed under "Project Types". If in conflictplease allow me to change the dialog.
Thisis an adventure into sustainability. I am trying to find how far offgrid one can go without giving up the luxuries of current society.Doing so will give others different living options for lowering theirown dependency on current necessities (electric, heat, a/c,water etc....). Hopefully this will not only allow people towork out of choice rather than need, but also allow more people towork part-time, if at all. Why? Because a country where all itspopulace are self sufficient has a much better position incontrolling its government than one whose people are indebted too itfor their very existence.
Ifone can go completely off grid too the point where they can legallynot pay taxes, then that person(s) success can be duplicated by acommunity. The ideal end would be the ability to call for a Nationwide STRIKE in order to get Political figures too look after thepeoples best interest rather than that of any personal interestgroups.
Itis said that he who controls the money controls the world. Well, wehold the purse strings too governmental pay through taxes (even ifthey can vote their own raises into existence). When we have thepower to step out of a consumer environment we enable ourselves a wayto refuse too pay for bad service.
Anyand all feedback is appreciated, after all we're here to teach oneanother. Just please keep it civil.
Sincethis isn't tied too one area/Country everyone is welcomed to jointhis struggle toward a Self-Sufficiency and a Consumer freeexistence.
Futureplans: Floating Greenhouse, Windmill powered Trompe,Composting, Boat repair using recycled plastic bottles, Tire Swales,Scrap Tin Raised Beds, Tiny House Construction, Black/grey waterrecycling, Home Solar Heating from Soda Cans, Attic air recycling,Rain Water Collection/Filtering
**NOTE**As of 2010 it is legal to not file/pay taxes in the U.S. System ifyou gross under: $9,350yr Single under 65 ; $12,000yr Head of household ; $18,700yr Married Filing Jointly ; $3,600yr Married FilingSeparately
Lookslike a self-sufficient family off grid could work part-time, livecomfortable and still have tons of time to spend having fun andraising the family. Beats having to come home mad at theboss/colleagues/customers and not being around while your childgrows up. Just think of the STRESS it would lift from your shoulders.Just make sure your work isn't pulling the taxes.
Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
