RISE blends a residential village, destination spa resort, organic farm and educational institute into one interconnected community. RISE is a place to embrace learning, wellbeing, and living in their most beautifully expressed forms.
8 CORE PRINCIPLES We believe in working from a core ethic, a foundation from which the entire RISE experience grows. Every aspect of our service from hospitality to treatments, our relationship with the community, and our place in the world are all informed by these eight Core Principles. EXPLORE MORE COMMUNITY Cultivating authentic relationships and supporting ethical practices as the foundation for a loving, caring and sustainable society. Common unity is accessible to all. AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE Protecting, preserving and integrating the sacred traditions and wisdom of indigenous cultures as the cornerstone of a unique, inspirational and authentic experience. Integrity is the foundation of authentic experience. INSPIRED LEARNING Sharing inspirational teachings which support the highest human expression in stimulating environments, encouraging soul development to arise. Inner wisdom is available to all who seek it. RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP Engaging a new ethic in planetary stewardship where the design, development and operation of human environments harmonizes with and respects nature. Our rightful place as a species is as stewards of the earth. HEALING Delivering cutting-edge alternatives in healing and self-care, restoring the strength, vitality and beauty of our natural design. Well-being begins with reverence for life. AWARENESS Empowering humankind to realize its true nature and supporting the emergent culture of oneness as the cornerstone of a new interpersonal ethic. The power of awareness is our undiscovered birthright. REGENERATION Pushing the boundaries of full-spectrum ecological awareness to restore balance and biodiversity to the planetary biosphere. Revitalizing life heralds unlimited abundance. SERVICE Giving more than many feel is reasonable, we receive more than most fathom is possible. Being of service to others – whether to the local community, our valued guests, or our devoted fellow team members – is the source of our greatest joy.
Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
