At the moment I am the proud owner of a home with acreage 0.4 hectares. When the house was built our land was totally bare. This year I started laying fruit and vegetable garden and try to follow the principles of permaculture. I am concerned about the approach to agriculture in my country and the region where I live is one of the world's largest potash fertilizers field. The ecological situation is deteriorating every day. Belarus is an agrarian country. Almost every family has a plot of land where they grow fruits and vegetables for themselves. I would like to use my own example to influence the situation in the region. I have the opportunity to provide a venue for various kinds of seminars and practical training sessions. This will allow more people to verify that the system of ecological agriculture works; then we can develop this direction in Belarus. In Belarus there are people who are trying to create ecovillages, but I think this approach is hopeless in the context of our traditional way of life. My philosophy: you do not need to radically change your life, you have to learn to live in harmony with nature here and now. So if everyone started to create a medium around themselves like this, then, by example, we can change people's minds.
I was born and live now in Soligorsk, Belarus. I`m 34 years old. I live in my own wooden house and have 40 ares parcel. I`m highly interesting in permaculture and want to broadcast this idea to the Belarussian people.

PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
