Project of perma garden
This year I have decided to set up a perma garden. I findit as the best solution for using a soil and as the best way of farming.
My wife and me are both quite heavy workloaded, our children grow into the age of puberty. We were rebuiding our house for ten years and finally comes the time to spend time meaningfully in the nearest environment around us. In our case it´s the garden and the back and frontyard.
Until now we have been using our garden the way as most people do in our region: the biggest area is a grass, then we have fruit-tree and bushes.
Our project is to make an environment where the dominant part will be occupied by plants, mainly fruit-trees, fruit-bushes, higher and lower herbs. Among these will be rised beds for seasonal growing of vegetable.
There will stay in our garden the part used as an ordinary vegetable garden, a small shed for gardening tools and pots, places for composters and the space for working with a compost.
We decided not to prune away or relocate any of the plants or bushes growing there. Everything should follow the contemporary state.
Moving through the garden should be by means of two paths. One for quick transport of material, the second should lead to the important points of the garden so we could take care of the plants, gather or just relax.
After the mapping of the contemporary state we made a plan for an each zone of the garden which we would like to change.
The plan is not and will be not firm. Definitelly new things will come across our minds during a realisation or the nature will tell by itself where we will be making miskates.
We would like to aim mainly on the garden but simultaneously we will try to refine places around the house and add anything which will make our surroundings better. We are planning to lead grapewine to housewalls, grow a part of the plants in pots and build a relaxing zone with pergollas and ornamental plants.
Our goal is to make a pleasant surrounding around us, where we could grow fresh and healthy food, relax, watch natural processes, start to understand the principes and consequently behave according to them.
We thannk you in advance for any remarks, ideas or critique.
Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.
MemberA member is a permaculturist who has never taken a PDC course. These cannot become PDC teachers. Members may be novice or highly experienced permaculturists or anywhere in between. Watch their updates for evaluation. |

Permaculture MatchmakerOne of these badges will show if you select your gender and the "I'm single, looking for a permaculture partner" option in your profile. |
|
PDCPeople who claim to have taken a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) course somewhere in the world. |
|
PDC VerifiedPeople who have entered an email address for the teacher of their PDC course, and have had their PDC status verified by that teacher. Watch their updates for evaluation. |
|
PRI PDCPeople who’ve taken a Permaculture Research Institute PDC somewhere in the world. |
|
PDC TeacherPeople who claim to teach some version of PDC somewhere in the world. |
|
PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
