Below are a few images of the wild weekend that was Milkwoods 'Gourmet Mushroom Cultivation' workshop. With Nick Ritar as the intellect at the helm and fresh off the release of their premier book 'Milkwood: Real Skills For Down To Earth Living" this weekend was an absolute joy. Jam packed from practical excercises to in depth mycobiological theory, coming out of this weekend I felt fully equipped with the knowledge to not only set up my own gourmet mushroom cultivation workshop at home, but also to consult friends and begin intergrating mushrooms into regenrative whole systems designs. Add that much forgotten element to your food forrest layers, mushrooms, and make use of the surpluss woody biomass of forrest floors to add edible yields to your system. Not to mention the course took place in Hepburn Springs VIC, Australia at the David Holmgrens farm 'Melliodora' Incredible site to visit and casual tours of the property by farm manager at the time Nick were such an unexpected highlight to this weekend.
I highly recommend Milkwood as a first stop on any Permaculture enthusiasts journey and I look forward to seeing and learning more from them. Check out their new online PDC here:
