I'm no longer sure whether there is a future for permaculture. Actually I'm no longer sure there is a future at all. Sounds catastrophic, I know and I'm just not that type of a guy. However, I have been studying and observing the status of our ecosystems worldwide for a decade now and the picture is definitely not a nice one. Before you get all excited about my statement, please read the following article I wrote about my findings. We have less than 20 years to completely overhaul the world or it will turn into a giant compostheap. Can it be done in 20 years and if you believe so, please let me know how we can practically do it. My wife always tells me: "look at what happened to the Loess plateau and that was done in 10 years". I agree but that's in a country with dictatorship-like authority and initially the people didn't want it either. It only worked because the government forced them to abide to the new set of rules. Can we do this around the world you think?
