Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. It has many branches that include, but are not limited to, ecological design, ecological engineering, environmental design, construction. Permaculture also includes integrated water resources management that develops sustainable architecture, and regenerative and self-maintained habitat and agricultural systems modelled from natural ecosystems. You will discover all this in the natural setting of the Prealpine region with a view on the plain that will lead your eye to the beautiful Venice, if a clear sky allows.

How long is the course?

The 10-day intensive course (8 hours/day) will be directed by a group of international teachers with permaculture design diplomas. At the end of the course the students will receive a PDC certificate.

Who are the participants?

Local and international people who want to acquire profound knowledge of permaculture. The course will be held in English language.

When and where does it take place?

The course will take place from 5th to 14th June 2018 at Damarco, Cerbaro 1, 36015 Schio (VI), Italy. The students should arrive on June 4th so that the first lesson can start in the morning of Tuesday, 5th of June.

How big will be the group?

The minimum number of participants is 12. The maximum is 22.

Who are the teachers?

Smilja Ignjatovic has been on the Permaculture journey for 7 years. She got her official PDC diploma in 2013 and The Diploma of Permaculture Design in 2017. Smilja has been organizing PDC courses since 2013 and lecturing since 2014. Other workshops and courses she was involved in (as organizer or lecturer) are for example the Designing a Food Forest Course and workshops on Wet Zones. Smilja is a co-founder of the NGO “Earthship Serbia” and a co-developer of porcelain urine separators for composting toilets. Mainly working as a natural builder she has three permaculture site development projects in her portfolio.

Smilja Ignjatovic

Cvijeta Biščević is a permaculture designer, educator and researcher with an MA in architecture and a background in land-use planning. Attending a Permaculture Design Course in 2011 impelled her to search for practical regenerative solutions to lifestyle challenges in both urban and rural landscapes. She has since been involved in several initiatives for promoting urban food production and establishing urban gardens in Croatia. This has led her to further develop a special interest in soils and composting, and to actively promote agricultural systems which regenerate biodiversity, whilst strengthening social cohesion.

What are the costs?
