HighCroft Farm is an 88 acre non-profit demonstration and actual working farm learning centre, exploring the most viable forms of sustainable agriculture on an ongoing basis. Its mission is to serve the Shuswap - North Okanagan community by providing sustainably grown “organic” (we will be ``natural`` until we become certified) produce, and providing education on how to do so. Courses can be marketed worldwide, attracting people into the community to provide education on the science and craft of sustainable agriculture, gaining knowledge of markets and financial management. This is achieved by bringing together many resource experts and specialists combined with community support which already exists. HighCroft Farm is open to joint programs with local universities, colleges and other learning facilities.
Encouraging hope, especially in the children, teens and young adults, with inspirational agriculture education and celebration and learning through the arts. “Hope Springs Eternal” is our motto, and our community centre is named “The Hope Barn”.
The Centre will host educational programs, expert conferences, tours of the farm, market days, community outreach events and live artistic shows and performances.
And of course don`t forget barn dances, Alaman-Left-and-Dosy-Doe ……………
