Compost on the way

One of the first mission that we want to complete for this project is to have a running compost.

The restaurant is produced a lot of organic trash, the forest give us full of leaves and old branches and we have manure from cows and horses.

I choose a mix around 30% of leaves, 20% of mixed manure, 30% of small piece of wood like chips and 20% of organic trash from the kitchen.

We use the old location of the compost wich is to far away from the kitchen but it will be fine for the moment.

We adjust few things :

- remove all the material wich is not organic : plastic, glass, metal etc...

- Drill small hole and the metal sheet to allow a good oxygenation of the compost and also prevent flood during the wet season.

Now we just have to water it to keep a good humidity and put manure and leaves after organic trash from the kitchen. Also next time that we do a fire I will collect ashes.

	PRI Teacher With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.
