Eco Apprentices will dive deep into sustainable design and gain first-hand insight into the practical strategies, skills, and techniques that The Ecology Center applied to transform an empty dirt lot into a thriving ecological oasis. Throughout the course, The Ecology Center’s founder, Evan Marks, along with leading permaculture and sustainability experts in their respective fields will share inspiring real-life experiences and wisdom.
The Eco Apprentice program will include lectures, site visits, and practical applications, for a total of 72 hours, spread across 3 months, every other weekend. During the course, you will apply what you’ve learned in a number of real-life projects in the community that may include redesigning homes, school gardens, and public spaces.
By the end of the course, you will be able to apply the skills and techniques of permaculture design to restore biodiversity, create sustainable food systems and self-sustaining homes, and transform our world with vibrant spaces in harmony with nature. The Eco-Apprentice program will train you to become a leader in the next generation of sustainability experts!
Upon course completion, graduates will receive a permaculture design certificate and have the opportunity to join The Ecology Center Design Guild for future community projects.
Costs:
