Oppertunity: 1 year Apprenticeship
Location: Koanga Institute - Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
Want to grow an abundance of food in a small space? Have some construction skills for creating new systems? You might be our new urban garden apprentice!
We are looking for somebody who is passionate about taking nutrient dense, regenerative food production into cities anywhere in the world, based on a Weston Price Diet.
We are looking for somebody who is a builder or handy man/woman so that you will have the skills to develop our plans with help from our team. Somebody who is passionately interested in appropriate technology as our model includes many examples of this.
We will train you to design, develop and manage new systems which may contain many animals. We currently have rabbits, guinea pigs, soldier flies and chickens with the prospect of adding fish and algae. You will be developing Bio-intensive vegetable gardens, forest garden areas, vertical layers, wicking beds, algae tubes, roof gardens and acquaponics.
