I have been accepted into an apprenticeship program at The Farm near Summertown, TN from the end of May 2015 until the beginning of August 2015. The focus for the program this year is natural building using fundamentals of permaculture design and ecovillage master planning. There will be plenty of other learning as well, i.e. "poultry management; beekeeping; garden production from seed through harvest; compost, microbial teas, and soil amendments; fruit tree & bamboo maintenance; biochar fuel & stove development; and biodynamic waste-treatement aquatics systems management. Minor lab work may be involved, such as bacterial counts in soil samples." I can't wait to start this journey in continuing my lifestyle training in becoming more sustainable myself, and gathering more skills to teach and keep rolling towards a rewarding career in the sustainable agriculture field. I look forward to adding to all the experiences I had in Thailand working on the edible school yard project.
