In the first image i have used freshly cut elderberry wood to push the branche sideways. Doing this in the first years of growth will result in good branch structure/ open canopé...
The second image shows a young Sourcherry tree, supported by Robinia wood and tied together with an Old man's beard vine (Clematis).
Cheap and easy. This will last as long as necessary.
