I returned to Australia late August 2013, after a 6 month stint in West Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, which is somewhat like a second home to me now. In 2011 and 2012, I had the privilege of working on a documentary about 11 young people from around the world at the invitation of Dr Willie Smits. As the production and locations manager, I was fortunate to have had the invaluable assistance of my local production crew who I now consider valued and trusted friends.
When I returned again this year, my Indonesian colleagues and I set up a Not for profit organisation called The Canopy Foundation to develop and manage environmental, community development and cultural preservation programs. While this organisation is in it's infancy, the directors and supporters are all local, with a wide range of skills and bucketloads of passion!
We hope to launch the website in the next few months in preparation for the worldwide theatrical release of the documentary The Rise of the Eco-Warriors www.ecowarriorsrise.com
Stay tuned for more details!
