Yesterday I picked up an old bathtub from a client of mine who is doing a major bathroom renovation. I also scored his old shower basin, though I am not sure yet what to do with that.
Anyways... the bathtub was to be used as a water trough for visiting horses, but after visiting the PRI formum last night the decision has been made to turn it into a worm farm. It and at least 2 of my old 100L black plastic troughs will grow some beautiful worms.
Hubby has been kindly informed that he will be helping me putting it all together. He loves to be volunteered for things like that. He's not at all convinced that it will be a success, but he loves me so he plays along. He better, or they will be no help when he plays with his motorbikes.
I've got all the materials I need... well except for bricks to sit the tub on, but the neighbour has a whole pile of them just sitting there... I will put them to good use. :)
So over the next few days the bathtub will be transformed and made ready for the arrival of 4000 red wriggler worms. So looking forward to it... worms glorious worms :).
I'll put some photos up of the worm farm project when I have some :D.
Cheers
Petra :)
