Taming neglected yard into a food forest and play space

My friend has hired me to help her in her yard.   It is riddled with over grown shrubs, run-off issues, deer, invasives and sprinkled with poison ivy.  Lucky for me I do not seem to be allergic to the poison ivy.  Of course I still take the proper percautions so I do not transfer the stuff around since others may not be so lucky with it.  Just a few days ago I spotted one deer in thier yard jumping the fence out of 5 or 6 deer beyond thier fence.   First thing I do when I get thier is to put on sunscreen, bug repellant, clap if there are deer and put on the gloves.  This last time I was taming the overgrown thickets, identyfying further nitches and where to put a raingarden or bog garden.  Come late winter the trees will be pruned.

Well, the winter storms have been a bit harsh.  One tree was lost and two others were removed due too the first one falling on them.  There were no injures of any persons.  It is amazing how nature can knock a tall oak over root ball and all.  It was a blessing in disguise to see the trees down.  Now my friend is well supplied with firewood and has an increased opportunity for more fruit producing plants to be planted.
