We have lived with the knowledge of peak oil for decades.
One of my friend points out that we will switch to natural gas afterwards and that it will be a lot lot longer because of that.
The fact is renewable and unrenewable have little distinction in the minds of most people on the planet. They are just the same. Something you can go down the street and pick up whenever you want.
If we don't change the way people think about what 'they produce themselves', there is little to talk about. I shouldn't preach to much. However when do people expect to live in a sustainable manner? A: At the last moment possible! Up until then human nature is most likely going to keep consumming as far as our guilt and conciousness is going to let us.
The few, the rising kitchen gardeners may have a growing sector of the populous; but are they activists?
