Food for Free

We look for food and we find food

 

Around Moraro, there is food to be had for free.

Forest fruit trees are every where but the choice is not up to us but to the season. One favourite is palm fruits. There are quite a few species and sometimes we have to brave thickets to get to the trees but the adventure is worth every effort.

Not only do we have to overcome the physical obstacles but we have to compete with animals such as the golden agouti as well. Do we mind? Definitely not!

The reward is great. Delicious sweet tasting fruits.

Evelyn Bishop : For those of us living in the tropics this is so true! It's all about what's in season... Papaya, banana, pipa, they are abundant and they are a blessing. It's a joy to share them with the animals and to foster a stronger eco-system.
